Tacos are good. That is all.May 9th, 2008 @ 7:01 am
My kid thinks every type of food right now is a taco. This might have something to do with my recent dinner-cooking-slump. Dude, browning up some ground turkey and adding an envelope of taco seasoning to it is just so darn easy. And also, very tasty.
I had a meeting for church on Tuesday night. That meant Babboo and I had to stop and get some dinner on our way to the church.
Enter the local Arby’s.
He asked cried for a taco.
I bought him a turkey sandwich and just called it a taco.
He seemed happy about his taco dinner.
And I was happy he wasn’t crying anymore.
Other things that have happened this week:
- Taco dinner on Monday to celebrate Cinco De Mayo.
- Our first Netflix movies arrived. (We have a free month, thanks to Rhi.)
- I first DVD’s were totally the first season of “How I Met Your Mother”.
- Next, we’re getting “Battlestar Galactica“. (Shhhh! Don’t tell The King. He has no idea this is on our queue.)
- I finally enjoyed a bowl of cookie dough that I made from a Weight Watchers recipe. (I was feeling very good about this until I found out it I had eaten 15 WW points and not the 6 I had thought it was.) (Dude, why would the recipe LIE?!) (For the record, I only get 20 points a day. So um, this was not a good thing.)
- I went grocery shopping with Babboo and he only begged for a cookie for 20 minutes instead of the usual 60 minutes.
- I was able to use a $15 off coupon at Ann Taylor on a shirt that was marked down to $24.
- I helped paint trim over at the new house. The King wants the entire top floor to be done before we move in.
- I, um, sort of, um, got too busy and forgot to bathe my kid this week. This is not typical at our house. Our kid is always bathed and in tip-top smelling condition.
- I mailed off my mom’s Mothers Day present. They arrived yesterday. She loves them. I couldn’t be happier.
And on that note, Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely people in the world who have enough love that they can share with those around them.

Monday BulletsAugust 27th, 2007 @ 7:01 am
It’s the last Monday before we head off on our Summer Vacation to DC/NYC. Which means this week is going to be crazy. The King and I both sort of didn’t realize we were leaving this Saturday.
So um yeah, we aren’t as prepared as we should be for this trip.
Which means today’s post is all about The Bullets. Enjoy.
- The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is pee. I have to pee. Babboo is the same way. The King on the other hand didn’t pee on Sunday morning until 2 hours after he’d got out of bed. Two hours! That is insane.
- I talked to my little sister this weekend about the iron-on’s I made for my brother’s new baby. She admitted that she didn’t get the Little House one. And then she said, “I think I told you wrong. Our sister-in-law is into Anne of Green Gables, not Little House.” Yeah, not the same thing. Damn it..
- So totally randomly my little sister will be in DC on business the same time we’ll be there. This is so random. I mean, really, it’s crazy how random this is. I keep trying to come up with a time that we can get together with her. Even if just for lunch, or something. But she’s all “I’m too busy”. Whatever, jerk.
- I haven’t been able to bring myself to read the final installment of Frema’s online teenage soap opera Tragic Love Friday. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you should check it out. Seriously.
- We bought a new umbrella stroller this weekend for the upcoming trip. Babboo and I took it out on Saturday for a test drive. He loves it.
- I posted my latest New Thing today. You should totally go and read all about it and then leave me a comment so I feel special.
- The past two mornings on my way to work I’ve walked past a news camera crew. They’ve looked right past me and asked the person behind me for an on camera interview. I have no idea what they are interviewing them about. But I’m still a little upset that they aren’t asking me.
- Jihan is coming over to my pad tomorrow night so I can help her move her blog over to a self-hosted site. Wish us luck. I mean it, wish us luck.
- I invited four different friends (that have kids Babboo’s age) to meet Babboo and I at the Pacific Science Center last weekend. All four of them turned me down. May would’ve gone with me if she hadn’t packed up and moved to Reno!
- Things I have to do this week include getting a hair cut, grocery shopping, eating all the groceries before we leave, finding someone to come and scoop out our cat box while we’re gone, wax, doctor appointment for Babboo, laundry, painting our new house, finding rides to and from the airport. Oh, and packing for the trip. Kill me now.
So tell me, what do you have going on this week??

What I Love and what I Hate right.this.secondJuly 2nd, 2007 @ 7:01 am
Welcome to Monday morning. (Hey, it’s still morning here on the West Coast.) And since it’s still early-ish, we’re all about the bullet points.
To borrow from loveisblonde, I present you with what I’m thinking about right.this.second.
- Loving the three hours Babboo and I spent in our swimming pool on Saturday with three of my good friends and their three kids. We played in the water until we were prunes.
- Hating that I got peed on by Babboo two times while I was changing him in and out of his swimming suit. Thanks, kid.
- Loving the Seattle weather this weekend. Please, please stick around.
- Loving that I got a myspace message from Rhett Miller today. For reals. I mean he really typed it out and everything. For reals!
- Hating that now I’m nervous that Rhett might have actually read this blog. You know, since I gave him the URL and told him to do a “quick search for your name to see that I’m a true fan”. Gulp.
- Loving that I’ll have more to report on this whole Rhett Miller/Old 97’s adventure after tomorrow.
- Hating that I can’t stop grinning.
- Loving the huge 4th of July pool party we’re throwing this Wednesday.
- Loving that the weather should be in the 80’s on Wednesday.
- Hating the prep work for said party. (How many kabobs should I plan on making for the 30 people that are coming?)
- Loving that The King and I went to see Ocean’s 13 this weekend. First movie we’ve seen in the theater since Babboo was born.
- Loving our friends for agreeing to babysit for us so we could see the movie.
- Hating that The King and I don’t get to go out like that as often. (We will have to do this again when The Bourne Ultimatum comes out in August. We love the Bourne movies.)
So tell me, what’s on your mind this Monday morning?
