In which I forget to breatheJune 10th, 2008 @ 5:09 pm
And then to top it all off it’s my mom and brother’s birthdays. And, holy crap, is this Sunday Father’s Day?! Oh and I am giving the sermon in church this Sunday, which apparently, is also Father’s Day?! And dude, I have to come up with something meaningful to say about Father’s Day and Jesus? But also, I don’t want to offend anyone that had a bad father. Or no father. And crap, when am I going to have time to get that written? And why does my boss keep throwing more work at me? And really, this project has to be done by tomorrow? But I have a hair appointment tomorrow. And a Weight Watchers meeting.
And a dentist appointment today.
And I need to return our cable box this week.
And visit some new daycares closer to the new house.
And we failed our final electrical inspection yesterday.
Plus The King’s mom is having that (minor!) surgery tomorrow. And it’s my cousins wedding this Saturday. And I need to buy a gift. And buy Babboo some new shoes to go with his new tuxedo (thanks Durga! You look great, by the way!) and holy crap….can I just die yet?
And I just got the second book in the Twilight series that I’m dying to start. (Dying!)
The light at the end of the tunnel week?
Friday night will be spent, alone, in a hotel room (that I got for a sweet deal!) with The King. In Vancouver, Canada.
And we’ll be seeing the Old 97’s in concert.
(If I don’t get my picture taken with Rhett this time, I may just have to settle with my lame photoshop skillz.)
And then Saturday night? Yeah, we’re seeing the Old 97’s (again!) in Seattle.
Holy crap. I just have to make it through all this other stuff (see above).
And then, the party will begin.
So tell me, what crazy things do you have going on this week? And um, if it’s not too much of a bother, can you return my cable box for me?
——————-
Yes, my latest New Thing involves the new house. And a toilet. And a video. You got a problem with that?

Have an awesome weekend get-away. I hope it really destresses you. I hope The King won’t be jealous that your boyfriend will be there.
Wow, and good luck with your Father’s Day sermon!!
And, I hope you can get everything worked out with the electrical problem.

Holy cow!
Do you have ANY vaca time banked? Or sick days? Cuz this week seriously sounds like one where you need a day to do some de-stressification. And get some of all this insanity done while Babboo is in day care.
Wish I could help.

Sounds eerily close to my week! I wish we lived closer so we could help each other out. I am leaving the kids with their FIRST teenage babysitter so I can go to the eye doctor this afternoon (I am down to one contact- not good) and then again tomorrow so I can go to the dentist. Can husband take an hour or two off work to help out?!? Um, no. I am super mad right now. Oh well. Good luck w/everthing this week!

Yes, I’d love to return your cable box for you….b/c cable is the devil.
This is why I have to be a SAHM for now. I felt like my head was going to explode during the entire school year I worked after Lila was born…picking up the kid, cooking dinner, grading papers, doing laundry, changing diapers, giving the kid a bath, giving myself a bath, fitting in time with both sets of our parents and friends, attending whatever social event came up that week, preparing for evaluations at work, planning field trips, paying bills, writing exams, having parent/teacher conferences. I could keep going. I know that some people thrive on all the activity and might totally flip out if they didn’t have the job, but it just wasn’t for me..not now at least…I felt like I was doing 1,000 different things at once and not doing any of them particularly well.
So for me, this week….busy yes, but not as busy as you….for me, two thirty minute swim lessons with Lila, a playdate at the aquarium tomorrow, a playdate at a community pool on Thursday, possibly going to see Sex and the City Thursday night with some friends, and I’ll probably head to my grandparents’ pool Friday…and of course, I have kid and laundry duty. It’s easy though compared with what you’re doing…I’ve been on both sides…working moms are my heroes!

Wow, I totally know this feeling and I actually stopped breathing while reading your post!
One thing at a time and it will calm down soon.
And you’ll have a lovely weekend to relax and enjoy and start the next week all happy
Btw, how is it in the new house? Do you get a “too big” feeling sometimes?

Wow, you have a lot going on. Enjoy the tripS to see Rhett! Awesome! Good luck with the sermon. I know you’ll rock it. If nothing else, just toss in some lines from “Lost” or “How I Met Your Mother” or an Old 97’s song.

Geez Isabel! You DO have a lot going on! And I feel the same way with the way my life is going right now as well. If it’s not work, it’s family, if it’s not family it’s something else, and then something else.
It.Just.Never.Ends.
Have fun on your trip! And enjoy the Old 97’s.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I am still reeling from the Old 97s concert. I think my husband is getting a little jealous with my re-found uber-crush on Mr. Rhett. He is so stinking sexy, it’s not right!
I am jealous that you get to see them TWICE! I am feeling an urge to go meet them somewhere else… it was that good! I was surprised, though, that they didn’t play “Dance with Me” from their new album. I figured they played about 5 or 6 songs from “Blame it on Gravity”, so listen to it all the way to Canada! FUN WEEKEND!! Edward Cullen AND Rhett Miller!

I feel the pressure on my shoulders of that laundry list of things to do and it is not even ME who has to do everything!! Wow - hope you got through it all. (I haven’t read your other posts yet, but considering that you’ve written since this post, it seems like you did!)
