Tacos are good. That is all.May 9th, 2008 @ 7:01 am
My kid thinks every type of food right now is a taco. This might have something to do with my recent dinner-cooking-slump. Dude, browning up some ground turkey and adding an envelope of taco seasoning to it is just so darn easy. And also, very tasty.
I had a meeting for church on Tuesday night. That meant Babboo and I had to stop and get some dinner on our way to the church.
Enter the local Arby’s.
He asked cried for a taco.
I bought him a turkey sandwich and just called it a taco.
He seemed happy about his taco dinner.
And I was happy he wasn’t crying anymore.
Other things that have happened this week:
- Taco dinner on Monday to celebrate Cinco De Mayo.
- Our first Netflix movies arrived. (We have a free month, thanks to Rhi.)
- I first DVD’s were totally the first season of “How I Met Your Mother”.
- Next, we’re getting “Battlestar Galactica“. (Shhhh! Don’t tell The King. He has no idea this is on our queue.)
- I finally enjoyed a bowl of cookie dough that I made from a Weight Watchers recipe. (I was feeling very good about this until I found out it I had eaten 15 WW points and not the 6 I had thought it was.) (Dude, why would the recipe LIE?!) (For the record, I only get 20 points a day. So um, this was not a good thing.)
- I went grocery shopping with Babboo and he only begged for a cookie for 20 minutes instead of the usual 60 minutes.
- I was able to use a $15 off coupon at Ann Taylor on a shirt that was marked down to $24.
- I helped paint trim over at the new house. The King wants the entire top floor to be done before we move in.
- I, um, sort of, um, got too busy and forgot to bathe my kid this week. This is not typical at our house. Our kid is always bathed and in tip-top smelling condition.
- I mailed off my mom’s Mothers Day present. They arrived yesterday. She loves them. I couldn’t be happier.
And on that note, Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely people in the world who have enough love that they can share with those around them.

Haha, I “forget” to bathe my child all the time. It’s usually becuase he’s so worn out from playing at daycare all day that he passes out before I even have time to give him one. (I at least wash his hands and face, though!) And also, he’s TERRIFIED of being in the bathtub. Whenever we give him a bath he stands up in the tub and holds on to our legs for dear life. I get free Netflix months from my sister all the time. It’s awesome!

Okay, call me cheesy, but I totally stole your Mother’s Day gift idea. I made them last night. I don’t think my clear marble thingies are as clear as your seemed t be, but they turned out cute. Thanks for the idea! I have 4 people to buy for so this was a great alternative.

hahah. that turkey/taco thing makes me think of my little brother. he wouldn’t eat turkey because it wasn’t chicken…so my mom just started calling it chicken and he ate it just fine. he was, um, about 18 before he learned that my mom had been lying to him for YEARS. ahahah!

Oh, man, now I am craving tacos. Maybe I’ll try calling my lean cuisine lunch a taco and see if that works as well for me as it does for Babboo.
Tim and I are making photo magnets for his mom tomorrow night. You are the best at giving me awesome gift ideas for my family.
Happy mother’s day!

OK, this seriously makes me want a taco.
(Also, you will soon wonder how you ever lived without Netflix.)

I love tacos too! Can u please send me a video of Babboo talking? I’d love to hear him say “cookie!” or anything at all.

Hope you enjoy Battlestar Galactica. It is the one of 3 TV shows we watch and love in our house (besides Lost and Jeopardy). You are lucky you are starting it now. The final season is about to wrap up so you’ll be able to watch the complete saga from start to finish with out having to wait! And The King doesn’t have to worry about silly costumes or silly time eras….

Netflix is a lifesaver. I no longer have to get a 2nd mortgage just to pay for late fees at the video store!
And thanks for the awesome tip on those magnets — I made 3 sets and delivered the first today to my grandma - she LOVED them!
Happy Mother’s Day to you!

I gotta give Netflix another try and, yes, end my strike on them. I think Mr. Squirrel would love Battlestar Galactica.
I heart tacos, too, and you. Happy Mother’s Day, sweetie.

Mmmmm tacos. I might just make them tonight for dinner!
We aren’t on a daily bathing schedule at my house either - well my kids anyway. I have all my supplies to make those magnets! I can’t wait.
Happy (belated) Mother’s Day!
