In which I must date Winnie CooperApril 24th, 2008 @ 7:01 am
While my parents were in town for Babboo’s birthday, my mom was able to meet my older brother and his boyfriend for lunch. My mom said she was really impressed with his boyfriend. She said he was just a really nice guy with a “firm handshake”. (I’m not really sure what that means in this day and age. Do people even still shake hands?)
My mom also mentioned that my brother’s boyfriend looks a lot like my brother does.
Hum. I hadn’t thought that in same-gender-attraction you might come upon someone that looks a lot like you and that you might actually be attracted to them!
And really, how does that work?
Did my brother look at himself in the mirror one morning and say, “dude, I am one handsome son of a bitch. I really need to find a man as attractive as I am. And then date him.”
Isn’t that really the most vain thing a person can do? And also, the most awesome?! It’s like you’re announcing to the world that you know you’re hott.
Unfortunately, if I were a lesbian and ended up dating someone that looked like me, I’d be dating Winnie Cooper.

Or maybe Brenda Walsh (shown here with the boyfriend she met on her trip to Paris, The King).
But I’d really much rather date Angelina. Or Natalie. Or Kristen.
So tell me, who would your same-gender-attraction dopplegänger be? And better yet, who would you want it to be?

Don’t forget to watch the “Tonight Show” tonight!! The Old 97’s are going to be performing and I can’t wait to watch it. (Of course I’m old and can’t stay up that late. But be assured I’ll be watching it, thanks to my DVR, the second I wake up tomorrow.)
They're just my family · I rock

I’ve been told I look like a young Susan Sarandon, but she just doesn’t do it for me.
I’ve also been told (way back when) that I looked like Rachel on Friends. Yes, I had the haircut. And I dig Jennifer Aniston. So, I guess she’d be the one to make me switch teams. Even if we were just “Friends,” she looks like she’d be fun to shop or hang out with.

I’m one of a kind. So, I have no idea. Oh, someone told me once (in high school) that I resemble Liv Tyler.
My mom would say she would have to date Cher, because ONCE, ONCE someone told her she looked like Cher. And, she never stops talking about it. I would have taken this as a huge insult. Not my mom. She thought it was the nicest thing anyone had ever said to her.

Oh, I wish I looked just like Kristen Bell! I would not be able to stop loving myself.

Jenna Elfman… Right at the end of high school someone told me I looked like Dharma from “Dharma and Greg” and it stuck. I even went out and got the Dharma haircut. WORST. DECISION. EVER.

I don’t really think I look like any celebrity… but I have been told by more than one person that I look a little like Paris Hilton’s MOM. So I’d have to bang Kathy Hilton. Niiiiiiiiiiiice. (gag)

Everyone tells me I look like Renee Zellwegger. Although hopefully I’m less squinty.
If I had my pick, I’d probably go with someone like Jennifer Anniston. I like her simple, classic look.

Well then I’d be dating Jeanane Garofalo. Sweet! She’s so funny.
Though I’d prefer to date Rosario Dawson.
I had to interview someone yesterday and she had the WORST HANDSHAKE and it made me really unreceptive to her, truth be told.

One summer, two people in a very short amount of time told me I looked like Liv Tyler (I don’t think I do, but I was flattered all the same). So, I’d date Liv; Rhi and I might have to fight over her.
I would want to date Kiera Knightly, though she looks so much like Winona Rider to me (who I wouldn’t want to date) that it sometimes drives me nuts.

My hubby says I look like Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Aniston. Both of which he thinks are hot so I’ll take it;0)
I wish I looked more like Angelina or maybe even Victoria Beckham although I think her boobs are to big if that’s possible.

My boyfriend and I don’t *look* alike, but we act almost exactly alike. We both freely admit that we are totally conceited, so *of course* we would fall in love with our opposite-gender counterpart.
Did you know that Winnie Cooper is now a mathematician? She has a website where she helps junior high schoolers with their homework, and when she got her PhD she was involved in some magical legendary math research that I don’t know anything about. So at least if you dated her, you know she’d be all smart.

I’ve been told I look like Mariah Carey and I didn’t take it as a compliment. I would rather look like Winnie Cooper!

If I were a lesbian why on earth would I date anyone other than Tina Fey? I don’t understand how straight men and lesbians are able to resist as is. I mean, as a straight girl, I have a hard time resisting her.

I’ve had quite a few people, friends & strangers alike, tell me that I look like Jennifer Aniston. I don’t really see it, but she’s cute - so I’ll take it as a compliment! I’d much rather look like the “girl next door” than a fake-boobed, bleached-hair, too tan, b!mbo

I kind of have a crush on Avril Lavigne (which is funny since I also have a crush on Adam Levine, and their names sound so much alike). I can’t explain it. Please don’t judge me.
But if I have to date someone who looks like me, I guess it would have to be the little girl on Jurassic Park because everyone always told me that I look just liker her. I wonder what she looks like now??
When I was in AP psychology, we had a chapter on this issue. I don’t remember the particulars, but basically we are attracted to people who look like us. Our teacher made us all bring in pictures of our significant others and it was interesting to see the common qualitites such as head shape, eye color, hairline, etc. Even the ones who looked nothing alike still had a major physical characteristic that was similar. Fascinating stuff.
(your brother should marry NPH. Wouldn’t that be cool? And what a trooper your mom is for being so supportive).

I don’t really look like any celebrities, so this would be difficult for me!
If I go by what I like in guys, though, I’d be out for an Irish-looking red head with dimples. Know anyone?

That’s kind of funny, my brother in law made a comment a few months ago about how I looked a lot like Winnie Cooper before I cut my hair. She posed in her skivvies somewhat recently in a men’s magazine..she’s not looking too shabby these days.
Although, if I were a lesbian and had a choice, I’d totally get with Scarlett Johansson. She’s freaking hot.

I was told that I resemble “George” from “The Wedding Singer”.
Sigh.
Kate Winslet is hot. I’d totally do her if I swung that way.

I think I’d probably be dating Allyson Hannigan–I’m kind of okay with that, but I would give anything to be more of a Leighton Meester. Unfortunately, delicate features and alabaster skin just weren’t in the cards for me!

According to MyHeritage.com, I look most like Katherine Heigl and Kate Bosworth, with Katie Holmes, Kimberly Williams, Marcia Cross, Jamie Lynn Spears, Melinda Clark, and Ashley Judd tying for second. However, I’ve never been told I look like any of these people in real life, however, I was once told that I reminded someone of Marcia Cross’s character on Desperate Housewives…haha.
The one celebrity actual people have actually compared me to is Sandra Bullock. I actually agreed with them, but since she’s not in the limelight like she once was, I don’t get that comment much anymore. If I could choose who I looked most like it’d probably be Charlize Theron or Natalie Portman.

Oh Isabel, you ask the most interesting questions! And of course, I would marry you!!! Though we don’t really look alike. But we would never argue about who takes out the trash, right?
My famous girlfriend would probably be drew barrymore. I don’t think I look like anyone famous, but she’d probably be the closest…

I think this happens with straight couples all the time. Since Andiclaus and I are interracial, it’s so not the case with us, but I find myself looking at a lot of couples and thinking, They look like brother and sister. I wonder if they just think they’re really hot.
My doppleganger is not very famous, but she is on TV. She’s the lady in the First Response commercials. You know. “What if you could know you were pregnant the moment it happened?” That’s me. Except prettier and skinnier.

Did you know Winnie Cooper grew up in real life to be some srt of math whiz? Like, she’s literally insanely smart. Not too shabby if you must choose someone!

I don’t think I resemble any celebrities but a few people have told me that I look similar to Julia Roberts (no clue why really to be honest) so I’d have to go with her. I mean why not, she’s beautiful!

Man, it’s been forever since I’ve been able to get on your blog! My worked blocked you!!!! Can you believe it?! I’m so friggin pissed! Plus I’ve been out of town and busy with Finals week…. but that’s all boring.
I have to say my female Crush would definitely have to be on Kristen Stewart, the girl who is playing Bella in the Twilight movie. She was just friggin amazing when I met her and I don’t know if it’s so much a ‘girl crush’ rather than I just want to be her BFF because she is awesome.
I’ve also kinda always had a small obsession with Britney Spears.

I was told this past Friday by my guy friend that I remind him “of that girl from Samantha Who?” - or to the rest of us, Christina Applegate. (this is good, as she is on my husbands Top Five list) He then went on to say he’d “give me the edge”, which I will take a compliment when I get one.
I’ve also been told on two separate and v. distant occasions that I remind people of Drew Barrymore.
I am okay with either, since both seem to be fun to hang out with.

I think it’s hilarious that you picked two brunettes with majorly obvious bangs, when you so obviously have “bangs” that you try to hide by blending them into your longer hair. Oh yes, I’m calling you out on it.
I don’t know who I would date that looks like me… I know a couple of people said I remind them of Cameron Diaz (?). A former boss saw “Pulp Fiction” and told me that I was JUST LIKE Uma in that movie… I’m like “when she OD’d on drugs? Greeeaaat. Thanks.” But I think they meant her witty remarks? Let’s hope.

OK, “I am one handsome son of a bitch” is my new most favorite line EVER.
Also, I am not a lesbian, but I think I would Brenda Walsh. I always coveted her bangs. Also also, Winnie Cooper is some sort of math genius now. Very good catch.

P.S. I don’t know who my same-sex-attraction doppleganger would be, but the Leila? The #13 model from Deal or No Deal? Pretty effing hot. Luke teases me about it all the time.

I like this post!!!
I used to think Winnie was so beautiful.
I’ve been told I look like very random people- everything from Courteney Cox to Elisabeth Shue to Beverly D’Angelo to Candice Bergman to Lucy Lawless to Fergie. I would not date any of them!
I think Laetitia Casta, Natalie Portman, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johanssen are all really hot. I also love Tina Fey. And I love Kim Deal.
