I’m already pregnant, so what other kind of shenanigans could I get into?
December 21st, 2007 @ 7:01 am

Since Babboo was born almost twenty months ago, The King and I have only seen two movies in a real live movie theater. Two. Which is especially crappy since we live across the street from two huge multi screen theaters.

(In case you are dying to know what movies we’ve seen, let me tell you: Oceans 13 and The Bourne Ultimatum. Are we seeing a trend here?)

What I’m saying is that it takes a movie we are really excited about to get The King and I out of the apartment and into a theater. (Plus a little begging of the grandparents to venture into the city to watch Babboo.)

Enter the movie Juno.

If you’ve not heard about this movie, I suggest you go and watch the trailers. And then get your butt to the theater. Oh yes, it’s just that good. And funny. And sweet.

(For crying out loud, it has both Micheal and George Michael Bluth in it. So you know it’s got to be good.)

I admit to not being any sort of movie critic, heck I don’t even watch rated R movies, but dude I know what I like and I liked Juno. The topic was interesting (I like babies and I’ve been pregnant a time or two). The characters were likable (I love me some George Michael). The music was awesome (Kimya Dawson, I’m talking to you and am also downloading your music like mad). It was all just awesome.

So awesome, in fact, that I’m forcing my coworkers to go and see the movie with me again today at lunch. It’s the perfect way to start our Holiday break.  I’m bringing the candy.
So tell me, what do you think the perfect way to start off the break is?

Congratulations, tears of joy and big fat hugs are in order. I just got a phone call from the husband of May, my best friend who deserted me moved to Reno. Apparently May just had her baby girl. He called me so soon after that he didn’t even know the babies weight. Or her name.

May was able to have a healthy VBAC sans an epidural. Apparently it just went “too fast”. Dude, I can’t wait to talk to her and get the whole story. And you know, find out the baby’s name.

So yeah, congrats to May and her little family!

I am planning to see as many movies as possible this (long) weekend, both on my own couch and in the theater. Juno is at the top of the list! Also, where can I get a lunch break long enough to see a movie? Do you get to go home early today? I am so, so jealous. Dude, today is draaaaagging.

I did the same double-take as Liz and Janet before remembering that your post title was a quote from Juno. (Which I am DYING to see, by the way!)

dude, that title was so awesome. Even though we had already talked about JUNO on chat, I STILL for a second thought you were pregnant.

That was an excellent movie. Saw it Wednesday with HP. From what I could here (damn hearing loss!) I was laughing my hiney off.

    Yeah for May.

I have only seen ONE Movie in the theatre since my 4 year old was born. I just can’t pay a sitter to go to the movies. Its so sad b/c i love the movies. Actually, I’ve seen 2 movies, but one of them was The Bee Movie w/my 4 year old.

At first, I thought you were pg too.

I want to see that movie so bad! I heard it’s so good.
I got free passes (yes, FREE) to see Sweeney Todd last night. It was kinda weird, but I guess I liked it. The fact that it was free might have had something to do with it.

I can’t WAIT for today to be over. That means my official Christmas break starts, and I’m going to spend it getting my hair dyed, because my roots are going on 3 inches, going shopping! And just hanging out, doing nothing until I have to return to school in about 2 weeks.

I just saw the preview for that movie this week…it does look really funny! And we’re trying to get in a few good ones before our wee one arrives in a couple weeks…so maybe that will be a date night next week?

YAY for May and the baby! I can’t wait to hear more about it. Congratulations to her!

And I’m so glad to hear you loved Juno. Brett and I were just talking last night about going to see either that or Sweeney Todd this weekend…maybe we’ll have to see both. It may be our last chance to see movies for quite a while…

We’ve been really wanting to see this movie. We even picked up a free movie pass for the premiere and couldn’t go because of the stupid weather. Hopefully sometime over break we’ll get the chance. Glad to hear it’s so good!

    YAY for MAY!

Best way to kick off the holiday weekend? That would have to be getting to leave work at noon on friday and having a long lunch with my best work buds.

Haven’t seen Juno yet…but am hearing all sorts of great reviews, so I can’t wait to go!

Add me to the “Yay Isabel! Oh, wait. Yay May!” camp.

We saw Juno last night and it was fabulous. Adding to the fabulous-ness? The screenwriter is local and all of the Minnesota references were pretty awesome.
