One, two, three and to the fourAugust 29th, 2007 @ 7:01 am
The King and I like to check out music from the library. We’ve been doing it for years. It’s a really good way to listen to things that you might not usually try out. Because we aren’t the only ones that do this, we usually have to wait on a waiting list for the CD’s. Sometimes for a pretty long time. I think I waited over a year for the new Ben Lee CD last year.
When it’s time to pick up a CD from the library either The King or I will swing by and get it on our way home from work. We just run in and check them out and are back on our way in less then 2 minutes.
The other day The King called me on his lunch break. He had just been to the library to pick up a CD that he’d been waiting for for a very long time. A very, very long time. He didn’t want to run the risk of not checking it out in time. He ran right to the library as soon as he got the e-mail telling him he was at the top of the list.
The King was calling to tell me that he had dropped the CD off at Babboo’s school. He didn’t want me to go and pick Babboo up later that afternoon and not know what the CD was doing in the stroller. He was merely giving me a heads up.
“Why couldn’t you just take the CD to work and bring it home with you later tonight?”
“I didn’t want anyone to see me walking around with it. I was embarrassed.”
“What is there to be embarrassed about? What’s the CD?”

I agree. The King is probably a little too white and geeky to be walking around with a copy of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic for the world to see.
And I’m a little too white and geeky to be dancing and singing along with it at home. Because surprisingly, I seem to know every word of every song on the entire album.
Good times.

So, what I want to know is: do you make illegal copies of all these CDs? Because I would.

my bf has a Public Enemy cd. I wonder if it’s for street cred in our ghetto ‘hood.

Ok that settles it, I’m coming over later with my rolling papers and we’re having a throwdown.
Also tell the King he might want to make us some brownies.

Is it sad that I don’t even know where my local library IS? And I second OPH and Carrisa’s comments!

Babboo, however, is totally bad-ass enough to pull this off!
As a fellow library-CD whore and embarrassing music checker-outer, I love this entry.

That? Is AWESOME.
Do you think Babboo’s teacher got a sneak? What do you think they were saying to one another after finding The Chronic in the stroller?
LOVE! IT!

I love that CD!! I had it at one point.
The first thing that came to mind when I read the title to this post was “Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre is at tha do’”!

It’s not as bad as if he was carrying around a Hanson CD. Being a former Hanson fan, trust me, I got teased all the time for Hanson. What’s still worse is that I’m pretty sure I still know all the lyrics to their songs if I was to ever listen to them.

*snicker*
The thought of you dancing around and knowing all of the lyrics makes me laugh.
Now back to my Savage Garden. Oh? What? I’m a musical dork? Uh, yeah…

I also love me some Dr. Dre. The sad thing is, the local stations are now playing it during their “old school” remixes … I feel so old. That’s what I listened to in high school, eek.

“Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre is at the door…”
Is should really be are, but who am I to argue with chronic greatness?
Give me the microphone first before I burst like a bubble.

Now the question is, does Babboo know all the words? Hahaha
Kevin has an entire collection of vintage Dr Dre and the like. He grew up three minutes from Gary, Indiana. What can I say? Haha

My hubby has that CD, and my kids want to listen to it. I let them take a Beatles CD and a Blink 182 CD, and that made them happy for a minute.
