Status Report: 100 pack of condomsAugust 22nd, 2007 @ 7:01 am
Believe it or not, I’ve been asked a few times for a status report on our 100 pack of condoms.
I’m happy to report that we’re down about 10-15 condoms since they arrived back in June. That number may be a little skewed since Babboo got a hold of the giant bag we keep them in. He likes to carry the bag around with him. He’ll carry it into the front room, and then put it in the back of his little truck and push it around and then carry it over to the kitchen and put it in the cupboards.
It’s a good thing we don’t get any house apartment guests.
I mean how do you explain your kid running around the house with a bag full of 100 85 condoms? Especially now that he can open the bag and pull the darned things out? I guess they are move fun to play with in their natural form.
And also easier to lose.
Last night The King brought home another delivery. Yet again it was an array of items for our enjoyment. While not the kind of items you may be thinking, still pretty fun.
Nothing like seeing your two favorite guys mulling over carpet samples.
Our last house had all wood floors. With this new house, I wanted some carpet. But only in the upstairs bedrooms. The King hasn’t been too hip on the idea. He doesn’t think that carpet will add to the ultra modern feel of the house. Dude, I just want something cozy on my toes and a soft place for Babboo to play.
We decided to let Babboo make the choice. And choose, he did.
I would like this indoor/outdoor commercial grade glue-down carpet in “Castle Gray”, please.
And so while looking over piles of carpet isn’t as fun as looking over piles of condoms, it’s still necessary.
We’ll be moving in no time.*
*and by “no time”, of course I mean “before I’m dead”.

The King looks like a badass!
I heart Babboo’s curls.

I thought I saw The King standing on a corner downtown this morning, waiting for the light to change. Random!
And I looooove Babboo’s choice of carpet. (Note sarcasm…) I mean, nothing says ultra-modern like scratchy, grey, commercial grade, indoor-outdoor carpet!
Isabel: For now, we are going to go with this carpet!! Crazy, I know! But you’d be surprised how not-scratchy it is. Really. And it’s such a great carpet for the price. Which, hello, is what we’re all about at Casa da King.

I wish I had a book of carpet samples.

I was just about to lodge a complaint about there being too few pictures of the kid lately, but I’m very glad you fixed that.
And if you’re picking out carpet, the house HAS to be close to completion. At least it’s a lot closer than it has been.

OK, the first time I read it, i thought you said you were DOWN TO 15 condoms… and I was going to send you guys a pack of cigarettes or something. Down 15 condoms, now that’s much more reasonable.
Preston better not pee on the new carpet.

I LOVE commercial grade carpet. LOVE IT. We picked out a similar one for our family room and I can’t tell you the difference. No vacuum tracks, very durable, still soft on your feet, and it traps much less dirt. It looks clean all the time and if there is a SNAFU, it is a snap to clean.
Good choice!

I made the same mistake Pink Herring did, and I was momentarily speechless. (And also thinking, all that sex and they still haven’t broken in every room of the house?)
That little boy of yours positively slays me with his cuteness every time I see him. And the mental image of him pushing around a bag of condoms in his truck? Priceless!

10-15 in 2-3 months? Poor King.
Isabel: So um, Rob is someone that The King knows in real life. Dude, they went to college together and somehow Rob stumbled onto my blog last year and recognized a pic of him. HOW CRAZY IS THAT? (It’s very crazy.)
And also Rob, don’t feel too bad for The King. He is satisfied in other ways. Like the homemade BBQ chicken pizza I made for him last week. Or the fresh fajitas I made last night. It’s the little things that make him happy.
(Or so, I keep telling myself!)

I am sneaky!..lol…
I agree- carpet in bedrooms is nice and warm and cozy! You can actually get some cool modern carpets and colors. I would love to see pics of the progress on the house!
and thanks for pics of your guys!

I think that when I have my own house I’ll want both hardwood floor and carpet. No lanolium (however it’s spelled.)
I hope you guys get to move in soon! I can’t wait to see the finished house! And the floating stairs, and carpet.

I think down 15 is pretty good, despite possible Babboo intervention.

10-15 in 2-3 months is VERY good. Especially since ya’ll have been married for 8 years.
I don’t think I’ve even had sex that many times in the last year.

On the first read-through I thought that said you had 10 - 15 left, and I was about to be incredibly impressed, especially what with the toddler and one bedroom apartment.
But, hey, 10 to 15 isn’t bad either!

The best is when they come in and find the wrapper on the night stand and ask “what is this?”
With your son you’re thinking…oh, you’ll find out soon enough. But your sweet little princess…no thoughts, just nausea.

Have you checked out InterfaceFLOR? We have Flannel in Plain installed in a quarter turn pattern. It’s from the commercial line which is cheaper than the residential line. We LOVE it.

Babboo’s already quite the little interior decorator. Does he do any outside consultation?

Like many other readers, I thought you were saying you only had 10-15 condoms left and I was going to take my hat off to you!! I was frantically trying to compute how many days its been since June! Then I figured out what you actually meant. Though once I completed that little feat of division, I would have figured it out anyway…No way the parents of a toddler can do it almost twice a day. Ha ha

I also thought this meant you had gone through 85 condoms since June! Yee haw!!! How do you get anything else done!?!?!
I also like carpet in the bedrooms. You know, if you are blowing through 85 condoms in two months, you are bound to fall out of the bed sometime. It is best to have a soft landing.

At first I was going to say hooray and congrats, reading it that you only had 10-15 LEFT, but then I saw Rob’s comment and well…I like BBQ Chicken Pizza too! Lucky King!

I’m with the rest of the commenters. I thought it read, I have 10-15 left. Then I read it again and thought, where is my mind today??
Well, babboo looks adorable with those curls, but I think his taste in carpet may not be the best.

I read that as only 10-15 left and I was like, DAYUM! But, then I actually read it and, hey, it could be worse!

You better not let Babboo tote your condoms around! What if he gets a hold of a needle and pokes holes in them? He might want a baby brother, you know.

We had that EXACT SAME CARPET in the basement where my dad had his office. I think it’ll look great. Babboo has some mad decorating skillz. What’s the story on the tampon dispenser for the bathroom? Is that still a-go?

I, too, made the mistake and thought you were down to 10-15. I thought to myself, “Self, I had no idea Isabel was so, um, nice to her husband? I certainly can’t let my husband read about this tomfoolery or he’ll get IDEAS and stuff.” But then, I realized my mistake, and I’m so glad you’re normal

Well looking at carpets means you’ll get to move into your new house sooner, which means you’ll get to use more condoms “breaking in” all of the rooms…so it’s all for the same cause.
When I first read that, I also thought you only had 10-15 left and I thought DAMN GIRL, and you got them in JUNE?! 10-15 I can deal with. Thank you for making me feel adequate and normal rather than completely deprived!

Nice update on the condoms, thanks for the reassurance that I’m normal
Love the photos of Babboo! And carpet selections! WOOT! You must be geeting closer….
