The post in which I bite my tongueApril 23rd, 2007 @ 7:01 am
Sometimes I can open up my Write Post page on my blog and just start typing away without having to think much about what I’m going to write about. I can always tell you about how The King and I are still sleeping in the front room. Or I can tell you about the new house. Or I can always tell you about how cute Babboo is. Or about how goofy I am. And I can always write about TV.
Today I opened up my Write Post page and I can’t type. It’s not that I don’t have anything to tell you about. Oh no, dear interweb, that is not the case. I have plenty tell you about. Remember, my family was in town this weekend. So yes, I could have posts for the rest of the week. But I am stopping myself from talking about it. And it’s hard.
I want so badly to tell you about my older brother and how he manipulates every situation in favor of himself. Or how my cousins seem to be less than 100% healthy. Or about how my parents stayed home with Babboo on Friday and invited a few friends over. And then let one of them take a nap in.my.bed. The bed that I’m not even sleeping in. (I don’t know about you, but I don’t like other people sleeping in my bed.)
You will be proud of me though. I didn’t just sweep my feelings under the rug like we do in my family. Instead I told my mom how I felt about it. And she (seemed to) listened. We had a nice dinner out where we talked about my feelings and about other members of my family. It was good for me. It made me feel better. And it rejuvenated me enough to spend Saturday with them at the zoo.
So instead of telling you all about this last weekend, I present you with pictures from Babboo’s 1st birthday party at The King’s parent’s house.
So what do you think? Should we open presents first and then serve the cake or serve the cake first and then open presents?
The King didn’t care what we did first. Just as long as he could have a glass of O.J. The only problem was that he just couldn’t get the damn screw top off. Poor guy, I guess that’s what happens when you spend most of Saturday at the new house digging trenches. I guess that’s cheaper then renting a machine that will do the digging for you.
Now you sort of, but not really, know how my weekend went. So tell me, how did your weekend go?
They're just my family

Um yeah. Where’s Babboo?
Argh on the manipulative brother. Sorry! And napping in YOUR bed? double argh.

I third the demand for birthday boy pictures! It would bother me a little bit for someone I know to take a nap in my bed, but someone I know’s friend?! Hellz no!

Okay, it so nice to hear that other people have to bite their tongue constantly when it comes to their own family. I have to with my husband’s family and MY family. Geesh, it is amazing I ever say a word.
My weekend was awesome but then went downhill. The husband and I went for a hike with the dog and washed cars on Sat then on Sunday we did nothing until he had to leave to go to a conference in Connecticut. I am such a ninny when it comes to being alone by myself in my house. Plus, I am a slob while he is gone and have to rush around madly cleaning the nite he comes back.

I’m with you! I hate other people sleeping in my bed. I would have been mad… Especially if it was a stranger (or even an almost~stranger).
My weekend was pretty awesome! Got to go to the movies and we went to Liberty Park on Sunday! It was so much fun. I’d say a ver awesome weekend.

See, when I took pictures at Alyssa’s 1st birthday, I included Alyssa in the pics, but, you know, whatever you wanna do.
I don’t want any one else sleeping in my bed either! And, good for you for not just letting it go!

I’d be upset about the bed thing too - no one sleeps in my bed unless I’m the one offering it to them! And I thought it was only MY family that just swept things under the rug and didn’t talk about it, but I guess not!
My weekend was okay, thanks for asking! Happy Monday.

My weekend was busy. What’s new.
I like her cabinets. They are just like mine, only a different finish.
Look at you though. You look fabulous!

Yeah we need to see pics of Babboo on his birthday. Not that mom and dad aren’t gorgeous… but you know… star of the show and all.
And my weekend wasn’t so good. On Wednesday I was barely leaning over to put the mayo back in the fridge and my lower back went all wonky on me. By Friday night I was in so much pain I could barely move and was crying like a baby. It’s gotten better and I have an appt with the chiro in the morning so *fingers crossed* all will be better by lunch tomorrow.
And you are a very good girl for biting your tongue. I don’t know that I could be as good. Well except for the fact that some of my family knows about my blog. That might have kept me shut.

Happy Birthday, Babboo- so let’s see him already! I have a feeling he’ll be showing up on this blog soon. Was he cranky on his first birthday, as most of the kids in my family seem to be?
My weekend- in a few words, up to my yingyang in papers. If I have to write the words “Wikipedia is not a scholarly source” one more time, I might lose it. If it’s not gone already, that is.

Ew. In your bed? That’s gross. Total props to you for talking to your mom about it.

I need to work on biting my tongue more. I have a tendency to think to myself “this is probably not the best topic to write about”… and then do it anyway.
HAPPY BIRTDAY BABBOO!! I want that kitchen for my next birthday. Just wrap it up and mail it to me, please.

My weekend consisted of laying on the couch and picking at various foods, hoping one of them would agree with me. I’m glad yours was better.
Also, LOVE your hair in that picture!

I’m sorry, but was there other stuff in this entry? Because all I can think about is people sleeping. In your bed. In Your Bed. Oh my damn, oh my damn. Even if I didn’t have OCD, that would freak me right on out.
Also, your kitchen is beautiful. Still, IN YOUR BED. Guh.
