Here’s hoping that this topic doesn’t make us all get wormsApril 2nd, 2007 @ 7:01 am
It hasn’t been verified yet, but I think The King caught some sort of eye funk from the internet. I’m not naming names or anything. But you know who you are. And for payback, he has suggested you send him one of your extra glass artificial eyes. He may need it.
Actually, we don’t know what’s going on with his eye. But it’s gross. And all moist. And swollen. Not the area around the eye, his actual eye is swollen. I didn’t even know that was possible. And to be honest, it shouldn’t be. Because it’s gross. I wonder if maybe he got something in his eye that cut the actual eye ball all up. You know, like when Janet sliced her eye with her razor. (Dude, I can’t find the link, but be assured it was intense!)
Since we don’t know what the funk is, I don’t know if it’s contagious or not. Basically we spent all weekend making sure that anything The King touched didn’t go near Babboo or me. I do know the eye is ugly, and for that reason alone The King is working from home today.
Hopefully he’ll be able to get in to see some sort of doctor today. And hopefully the doctor will be able to just give him a pill that will make it all go away. Mostly I’m hoping it isn’t something totally, totally horrible. You know, like some sort of eye worms.
(I don’t really think there is such a thing as eye worms. But that would be karma for talking at great lengths last week about the times [yes, that's plural] that my younger brother got worms and the rest of us kids had to take a little magic red pill in hopes that the rest of us wouldn’t get the worms. Worms that may or may not crawl out of your butt at night to graze. At least that’s the story we told my brother.)
Let’s break this down:
- Is eye funk contagious via the internet?
- Should I buy The King an eye patch, because I totally saw them at Rite Aid for like $3.00. That might be the best money spent.
- Yes, my little brother had worms. It was gross. (But I had lice, so we’re even.)
- Rumor has it that new Forth & Towne is closing. I will be going there today on my way home and
trying onbuying some new jeans. You can’t beat the price. (This has nothing to do with this post. But I don’t want to forget about the sale.)
Happy Monday, bitches. Here’s hoping we all don’t catch the eye funk.

Poor King! I hope he feels better soon and can be cured with a simple little pill.
Also, worms? Ew! But I had lice, too, as a kid. Many times! (No, I wasn’t dirty.)

Be careful its not cellulitis. My little one got that (caused by a cold) when she was only 1 and it’s serious. Make sure he gets to his doctor today. Antibiotics (started by an IM shot) will get rid of it but it’s not something you want to “wait and see” about. Or, it may be nothing and I totally raised the alarm for no reason. Hope it’s the latter but definitely see the doctor. Good luck! Chris

My eye feels funny after just reading that! You totally made me cringe and rub my eyes with I wonder if maybe he got something in his eye that cut the actual eye ball all up!
Hope it gets better! I’m going to wash my hands now!

Here’s hoping that the King’s eye heals quickly. It sounds like he got something in it. Hopefully someone will see him today.
I never had worms, but I did have lice (stupid slumber party).
Yep, all the Forth and Towne stores are closing…they just couldn’t make it. Hopefully you find some good bargins. I did some shopping over the weekend and got some great deals at Pottery Barn. I love a deal!
Happy Monday!

Oh no you DID-NT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He did not catch the funk from me, thankyouverymuch. I can’t help that you’re husband has dirty eyes! Do you know how much glass eyes cost? He ain’t gettin’ mine without forking over some cha-ching.
I think you should, however, bedazzle a patch for him. Ahoy!

I hope the Kings eye gets better soon! My eyes are sort of twitching now just thinking about it. And worms and lice…..ewww. But that stuff happens.

oh yes, that was a great day when I sliced my eyeball. However, I don’t recall it swelling up at all so I think you can rule that diagnosis out. That boy needs to get to a doctor because a swollen eyeball is not something to mess around with. I think an eyepatch would be hilarious, but only if he also talks like a pirate when he wears it.

Oh that sounds so horrible! Poor King! Make sure he goes to a doctor ASAP to make sure it’s nothing serious!
I had lice once and it was horrible! One of the worst experiences of my life. I’m so paranoid about it now, that I don’t ever let my head get too close to others, or share hair accessories either.

Oh, no about the King’s eye! Keep us posted. I hope everything’s ok.
And, um, Forth and Towne’s closing (and related sale) just means that we now have a concrete reason to go shopping together. How long till they actually close? Could we do something in a week or two, like after my next paycheck?

Oh no! Eye funk is horrible!
Andiclaus once cut his eyeball up while working with wood (heh) overhead. He had to wear an eyepatch for, like, a week.
Pirate sex is hot.
(We totally didn’t have pirate sex. Maybe.)

Invest in the eye patch. Two reasons. One: So you won’t have to look at his ‘moist’ eye. Two: Might come in handy when he plays a “Captain Jack Sparrow” type pirate and you the damsel.

…. um, that is of course unless YOU want to be the pirate and HE the person in distress. I suppose it could go either way.

I got an eye infection once.
The doctor asked me if I had been rubbing poop in my eye.
I assured him that if I HAD in fact, been rubbing POOP on my eye, it wasn’t on purpose.
We decided it was probably from a diaper.
Whew!

I had lice when I was eight. I think the more siblings one has means the more friends they are exposed to and the higher the chances of getting something or other. Thinking about it makes my skin crawl, though I loved laying my head on my mom’s lap every night while she combed my hair. (I’m sure she was just in seventh heaven too.)
Good luck to The King and his icky eye.
Also, happy Monday (now Tuesday) bitches. I love it!

Sounds to me like the King’s eye is protesting after reading all those comments telling him that he was wrong and you were right about the whole bathroom floor issue. Be sure to tell him that icky eye does not excuse him from cleaning his own pee off the floor.
In all seriousness, I hope he’s feeling better soon and that you and Baboo aren’t inflicted with icky eye, too!

Ohh, I can empathesize with the King as I currently have a gross-looking eyeball. I think that mine is a popped blood vessel. At least, I think and hope that it is not eye worms. Luke, Frema’s husband and my son used to suffer allergic reactions that involved a swollen eyeball. Anyways, I hope that he is better now. Benadryl and/or aspirin seemed to help Luke.

So, I know this is a day or two late, but I had to visit the optometrist today and I blame the King entirely. I’m sure just reading about whatever is/was wrong with his eye made my own decide to develop some kind of crazy infection caused by a clogged duct.
Seriously though, I hope his eye is feeling better and was as easy a fix as mine.
