Who doesn’t want a free subscription to “Successful Farming” magazine?November 30th, 2006 @ 7:01 am
Remember The King’s last King Friday post? He wanted to hear what wisdom you’ve learned in your life. Not only did he want to hear it, he was offering a very awesome prize for the “best wisdom”.
Dude, he’s offering his best prize yet.
(Past winners of awesome prizes can verify that The King gets his prizes in the mail in a timely manner. Janet should have received her’s by now and I promise that I mailed MK’s yesterday. I promise.)
If you’ve forgotten what the prize is, let me remind you:
“This week’s winner will win an all expense paid, one year subscription to their choice of the following magazines;
glamour, self, or successful farming.”
Successful Farming? Sounds awesome.
(Except that I heard a very alarming NPR story this morning about farm kids dying in horrible tractor accidents. I will not be linking to it, because really, nobody needs to hear it. It was awful. It said something like every 3 days a child dies in some freak farming accident. Dude, keep your kids away from tractors. Or hay balers.)
So, either leave your words of wisdom in the comment section for today’s post, or visit the original entry and leave it there.
Do it NOW!

(Please feel free to also leave me your comments on how upset you are the Veronica and Logan broke up on this week’s episode of Veronica Mars. And also please assure me that they will be getting back together soon. Hopefully before next week’s episode airs. And if you can’t promise me that, please promise me that Logan will still be on the show. And that he won’t be a rapist or a murderer.)
(Please.)

I wish we had Veronica Mars here.. it was on for a bit and then they moved it and stuffed up my viewing pleasure. Evil TV people.

A long time ago… we used to be friends, but I haven’t thought of you lately at all…
Logan will never be a rapist. He will always be a bad boy though. And I will always want to make out with him.

Successful farming, huh? Who would have thought…
Gosh, I had no idea that so many kids were killed and injured in faming accidents. I guess it just seems like no one farms these days. Maybe because I live in a city… Oh, you might like the book, Reefer Madness. It’s about the underground world of pot, migrant farm workers, and porn. It’s very interesting.

Veronica and Logan broke up? I haven’t watched it yet, but I assure you that they will get back together. I mean, c’mon..they have to. Right?
OK, words of wisdom…
1. Never write anything that you aren’t ready for the entire world to read. (I once learned that one the hard way.)
2. When in doubt, go with your gut.
That’s all I’ve got.

1. Yes, I got my present, thank you! I’ve been too busy to write you to actually say thank you, but really…..my sweet tooth thanks you
2. V. sad about Veronica and Logan. Poor Logan seemed so sad…Do you think she will get with Piz?
3. Wisdom: When you are on vacation, you should be allowed to do whatever you want, whenever you want, without guilt. I don’t know if that qualifies as wisdom, just something I live by!

They HAVE to get back together. I mean, I saw it coming, but I was still caught off guard. That scene was so upsetting.
Question: How come Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars both have Logans as the boyfriend character? I mean it’s not a common name to begin with, so how did two shows on the same channel back-to-back end up with it?

[…] Thanks all for your words of wisdom. They mean a lot, and we’ll remind our little boy of them as he grows up. […]

Unfortunately I know several families that have lost children or even the parent due to a farming accident.
What’s scarier is that my sis lets her kids go to her in-law’s family farm several times a week. There, her boys, along with a bunch of other cousins, run around completely unsupervised. Recently, one of the 5 year-old cousins drove the golf cart into a pond. My nephews (5 and 3) were on the cart but fell off before it went into the pond. My brother-in-law just laughed.
(I couldn’t write about this on my blog because people where I grew up know about the blog and soon they’d be going to my mom and siblings, bitching…)
So yeah… Some people are just freaking morons. And what’s sad is that my sister won’t listen to my parents, mine or my brothers’ concerns… So on Saturdays (when we know the boys will be at the farm) we ALL say extra prayers and HOPE they stay safe.
(I have often asked my parents if they dropped my sister on her head as a baby… Now you know why…)

Is it just me or is Veronica Mars not as good this season? I’m just not excited about it every week like I’ve been in the past.
