The house, is gone. The belly, is hugeApril 7th, 2006 @ 8:00 am
Remember how we had planned to demo our house next week? But then we ended up doing it yesterday? Fun stuff. (And you know that by “we“, I mean we paid someone to do it, right?)
The King went over last night to see if the house was down. And it was. Apparently it took one hour to tear it down. Which is sort of sad since I’m sure that someone, a long time ago, spent a very long time building the house. Just to have it end up looking like this:
Isn’t it lovely? Today is the clean-up day.
The only stuff that was left in the house before demo was just junk. We were able to save a lot of the old doors and molding (which we hope to use in the new house). As well as donate the old fixtures to a home recycling foundation. We are also donating the concrete from the foundation of the house to a group that reuses it for retaining walls. The new house will be a “built green” house. Which means we are only thinking of the environment. (And thinking of the resale value!) We’re going for a four star rating.
And now, belly updates. Because, that’s really the only thing on my mind.
Yesterday’s doctor’s appointment went well. I am progressing just fine. Which is good. As the doctor left the examination room I heard her say (under her breath), “you’re having this baby this weekend.”
I may hold her to it.
She also told me that if I don’t have the baby by Monday (my due date) I need to call and schedule an induction for Easter Sunday (the 16th). So either way, I’ll have a baby by Easter. Can you even believe that? Because, I can’t.
After the appointment I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. Which was Heaven. Please explain to me why we ladies don’t do that more often? Or at least why I don’t do that more often?
My toes are pretty. My fingers are gorgeous (this is of course, not counting the fact that they are all horribly swollen). I’m ready for this baby.
So ready that I’ve run out of clothes that fit. I was forced to wear something that wasn’t all black today. Not only is it not all black. I’m wearing white. Which really, never happens. (Although I’m super thankful to Marci for the hand-me-downs.)
But I’m also wearing (black) flip-flops. To work. At my office. Where we have a dress code. Which doesn’t include flip-flops.
And I don’t even care.
In fact, I’m happy about it.
So there.

You look incredible. At first I couldn’t pick out what was “different,” but realized it was the whole lack of black.
I can’t wait to “meet” the little dude!

Someone should send that picture to TomKat and let them know that this is what an actual pregnant belly looks like.
Is it the weekend yet? I want ‘Bob’ to come out and play.

I heart manicures. I once got them a couple of times a month for almost a year. And pedicures? Are the stuff of Heaven. Now when your legs are in the stir-ups, people will have something pretty to look at while you pass the miracle of life through your…well, you know.
Also, thankfully I don’t have any big travel plans this weekend, so I imagine I’ll begin an urgent and temporary relationship with my “Refresh” button. In a very non-stalker way, of course.

This weekend, as in TOMORROW?!?!
As grossed out you were by your mom’s advice, I know you’re strongly considering taking it!
Regardless if it happens this weekend or next, you will be holding that precious babe in your arms very soon. How exciting!

A-freakin’-dorable belly!!! I totally agree with your doctor. That baby is coming this weekend.
Oh and it’s a right of passage into motherhood thing. You must get a pedicure before you go into labor. It’s just something you need to do as a pregnant women who will very soon have her feet all up in the air. I got mine last week.

Isabel, this is so exciting! Your tummy looks so cute, too. Though I know you probably rolled your eyes at that comment because at this point, well, you’re ready for the baby to be cute, not your tummy. I know.
And you guys are so cool for going the green house route. I thought I was responsible just by recycling. You guys rock!

You look great! I remember looking like a marshmallow, all puffy, at the end. You look all thin and healthy. Hope you have a new “bundle of joy” this weekend! Keep us posted.

oh my gosh I feel so behind. where to start?
1. the house. wow. I mean I guess it’s good that part is over with! I think it is awesome that you are building green. you guys are amazing.
2. I am 100% with you on the mani/pedi thing. It’s really the only thing I regularly spend money on (aside from eating out more than I should) that is totally indulgent. I simply love it.
3. the belly! well, if you do as your mom said below (hilarious post, definitely a Best Of) you may be having him tomorrow! I can’t wait! I hope you are still able to blog even a little bit once you get home and settled in.
I’ll be thinking lots about you this weekend!

For the record, you look lovely in white. As I tell my daughter often, black is not the only acceptable color for clothing!
I’m not going to tell you to hurry up and have this kid already, because I’m sure you’ve heard it, but seriously, hurry up and have this kid already. (sorry)

I’m soooooooooooooo excited!!! yayyyyyyyyyy!!!
ohh and this would be your first post up of a bare belly picture and in WHITE?!!! That’s so cute.
I can’t wait to hear when the baby comes…you’ve gotta get the King or someone to post when you are at the hospital.
Wishing you all the best- a painless- stressless- slippery labor for you! ::)
