Why would they do that?February 28th, 2006 @ 8:00 am
Last night I was awoken by the most horrific sound in the entire world. It was the high tech fire alarm that our apartment building is equipped with. It was, most possibly, the loudest sound I have ever heard. It didn’t startle me. Probably because I sleep pretty light these days. It didn’t startle the cat either. (Which leads me to believe that’s he heard it before during the day.)
But it startled The King. He sat straight up and turned to me.
The King: “What is that?”
Isabel: “I’m pretty sure it’s the fire alarm going off.”
The King: “Why would they do that?”
The alarm stopped going off. I reached over to rub his arm and try to calm him down. He was covered in goose bumps.
He turned to me again and asked, “But why would they do that?”
I don’t know why they would do that, but it was all I could do to not laugh out loud at him. Poor kid. He can’t handle being woken up at night.
I hope we get one of those babies that I’ve heard about. You know, the ones that sleep through the night?!

Good luck getting one of those kids. It took 2 years for me to get one of those.

Good luck getting one of THOSE babies. Those babies aren’t typically the boy ones. But you never know… you might get one of the three out of 1 billion that do! heehee.
Not to scare you or anything.

I’m laughing because neither of you thought the alarm was going off because there was a fire? I know that was totally NOT the point of your story.

I am the same as the king (once again!) I am a mess when I get woken up at night (yelling, whining, other things I don’t remember?)

Do those babies really exist?? I think it’s a big ol’ myth.

I hope you get one too! We didn’t, but now that she sleeps for one four hour stretch through the night I feel like a normal person again! And this is coming from someone who usually needs 10 hours of sleep!
Hubby is particular about his sleep and gets very grumpy if it’s distrubed. Somehow none of it matters when we see her smiles in the morning.

So I take it the King won’t be doing night feedings?
