I hang out at all the wrong placesFebruary 22nd, 2006 @ 12:00 pm
My salon called me yesterday and asked if I would come in after work and be a hair model. My stylist was teaching a class on up-do’s for some of the new girls and they needed someone with long hair. I jumped at the chance to let someone make me fancy, at no cost to myself.
Salons are great places for all sorts of gossip. Especially downtown salons. The stylist working on my hair stopped the class to tell us all what happened to her and her friend last week while they were out clubbing.
Stylist’s friend (speaking to an Asian guy at the club. I also need to make note that she was very drunk): Hey, I know you. I totally know you. We’ve partied before, right? Because I know I know you!
Asian Guy says nothing. He just smiles and laughs.

Stylist’s friend: Seriously, I know you. Don’t you know me? Remember me? Right, we’ve hung out. Remember? I mean, you have to remember me, because I totally remember you.
Again, Asian Guy says nothing. He just smiles and laughs some more. Maybe he even rolled his eyes.
This is when a very done-up white lady sidles up to him. She is wearing a fur coat. In a club. Full of twenty-somethings.
Have you figured out who this Asian guy was? Or who his older lady-friend was? (Do I need to remind you that I live in Seattle?)
That’s right. It was Villi Fualaau and Mary Kay Letourneau out for a night of serious clubbing. (I know it must have been serious clubbing or Mary Kay would have left the fur home with her two little girls that she had with Villi….when he was like 13, or something!)
How awesome is this? I have been wanting to run into this infamous couple since Mary Kay was released from jail. I always thought I would see them at the movie theater, or at Target. Now I know. I was looking at the wrong places. I should have been looking for them at the clubs.
—————————-
I know you are dying to see how they styled my hair last night. I regret to inform you that they only did two styles. The first one, I loved. Loved so much I may just go back and pay to have them do it to my hair at a later date.
Since they did two styles, it means they took the first one out and sent me home with one that wasn’t as cute. I still planned on keeping it in for work today. (Yes, I slept very carefully last night in hopes of saving the hair style). When I woke up this morning I looked at myself in the mirror and figured the guys at work would just tease me. So I washed it out. Now I am sad and miss it.
Good thing I took pictures:

Edited to add this photo, which was requested, of the first hairstyle (please note, this is NOT a picture of me. Don’t be fooled!) Isn’t it just so much cuter than the second one? I mean, it was perfect and I love it and looking at this picture makes me miss it.

I am so jealous of the stylist!! Can I tell you that I’m obsessed with Mary Kay and Villi? If I was you, I’d be a stalker. I am totally considering a career change to becoming a celebrity stalker. Care to join me?

What a cool story! I love your hair, too. A guy I work with, um, “smoked” with Sam Elliot over the weekend! Who knew?

Describe the first hairstyle. If it sounds easy, maybe I will try it, because I have long hair too. Since becoming pregnant, it is “Ponytail Day” almost every freaking day! (The reason being I only have an hour to get ready in the mornings. Each of these takes me half an hour: breakfast, makeup and clothes, & hair. My choice used to be makeup and hair. Now it is makeup and breakfast. Hairstyling had to be sacrificed for the greater good. And no, getting up earlier is not an option. So don’t suggest it.)

You know, it took seeing that picture of Sarah Jessica Parker to make me say, “Hel-LO, Isabel is so the brunette version of Sarah Jessica Parker!” And then I remembered that Sarah Jessica Parker IS a brunette. I don’t know what that means, but anyway, yes, great hairstyle.

That MK and Villi…disturbing! Of all the people to meet in a club!

I totally new that was Villi as soon as I saw the picture. But then Mary Kay enters wearing a FUR at a CLUB!?
I can’t believe those crazy kids are still together. Ahhhh, young love. OH wait, she’s NOT YOUNG! You know what though, she’s not old enough yet for the whold mid-life crisis thing, is she? Can you imagine what she’s going to do then?

How crazy that she ran into them. I’m sure that Mary Kay goes to the bar with him to keep him in check since he is so young and at his “clubbing” stage of life right now. I would be so incredibly squicked if I ran into them. So weird!

Great hairstyles! I LOVE the SJP one - she’s like, my fashion idol.
That’s so funny that the stylist thought she’d partied with Villi - he’s a little kid for all intents and purposes! Ha!

that is so cool that she ran into them!!! Maybe you & the King can go to the club this weekend (yes with your preggo belly!!) Ok, so maybe not the best idea!! Your hair was so fun, too bad it didn’t work for today. That’s so cool that they asked you to come be a model!!
