Hooray for the Zoot FamilyOctober 25th, 2005 @ 2:37 pm

Miss Zoot is headed off to the hospital to have her baby girl, NikkiZ. I am so excited for her and her little family. Yea!!
Rumor has it that she’ll be blogging while in labor. Hum…can’t wait to hear first hand how it is going for her.
Good luck Zoot!

Update: She’s here! All are well, which we love to hear. Can’t wait for the pictures.

Baby PictureOctober 25th, 2005 @ 10:41 am

I was thinking it might be fun to post some of the pictures I scanned of me as a kid. Then I started to look through them and I realized…hey, I was a goofy looking kid. Especially during the 12-20 year old stage. Seriously, I am one of those people that got better looking with age (or at least that is what I tell myself). I think the fact that I had adult braces helped.
So, here is the most adorable picture of my cat (and The King). Of course he isn’t this little anymore (but still very lovable). It was so long ago that I hardly remember him being this darn cute.
And for good measure…a picture of my movie-star teeth (thanks adult braces).

I read that your teeth move during pregnancy. The King has been reminding me every night to put my retainer in before I go to bed. He said I only get my braces paid for once, he won’t pay for them again (don’t blame him).
Don’t worry-I don’t want my jacked-up teeth back either.

Free music TuesdayOctober 25th, 2005 @ 8:28 am

Actually, everyday if “free music” day for The King and I.
Now before I get into this too much I have to say that I am not sure if this is legal or not. We asked and were given an answer that sounded good. But not sure if it was the legal response. I am sure the Internet will know the answer (and tell me either way).
The King has an iPod. He’s had it for years. In fact, he may be on his third one. (You know, those batteries don’t really last very long-so you should get the extended warranty). The King takes it to work with him and listens to it all day. He listens to it while he rides his bike to work. He listens to it on the plane. He loves it. But more than the actual love for the Pod, he loves getting music for it. It’s like a game to him.
We started checking out CD’s from the library a year or so ago. We pick them up and download them to the Pod and return them. (Again, we asked at the library and they said we could do this. I *guess* that means it’s okay.) We know we aren’t the only ones doing this because sometimes we have to wait about 6 months to get a certain CD. The library has this great system where you put a CD on hold via their website. When it comes it, they e-mail you and hold it for you until you can get to the library and check it out. You don’t even have to ever talk to a person. It is all self-service.
The best part is seeing which CD’s are the most popular. For instance, the new Ben Lee CD was very popular as was “Country Grammar”. In fact, I think Nelly was the longest wait we had.
We went to the library last night to pick up our latest batch of CD’s. 7 total, so it was a good score. The King started to download all of them last night and when he came to the Nelly CD, he said “I don’t think I want this one.”. Aw, the irony.
So if you aren’t already, head to your local library and get some music to enjoy. It’s free and it’s easy. Plus, that’s what library’s are for. Right?

My what?October 21st, 2005 @ 8:32 am
I walked over to the printer to retrieve my latest print out. (fun times this early on a Friday morning).
My co-worker said to me “Good morning Isabel. How are your kids?”
“My what?”
“Your two kids.”
“I don’t have kids!”
“Yes you do. You have two kids!”.
People, I have worked here over five years. FIVE YEARS. I have NO kids. Especially not TWO kids.
I hope this isn’t a prelude to how the rest of the day will go. I can’t handle dense people.
