I just can’t commitOctober 27th, 2005 @ 11:28 am
We signed up for Netflix this summer while all of our favorite shows were on hiatus. I know, I know-we are the like the last people in America to sign up. The King and I were instantly converted to Netflix. We watched a new movie every day. It was fun, it was relaxing, it kept us busy.
We sort of got burnt out on movies after a few months. It was hard to stay awake each night during a movie. The movies ended up just sitting by our TV for a few days before we just gave us and sent them back without even watching them. We knew this was bad, but we just couldn’t commit to 2 hours each night anymore.
So we took the advice of our “Friends List” and started to get TV shows. They were perfect for us. We could watch a few episodes each night without falling asleep.
As of this week we finished watching our two new TV shows. We loved “Undeclared” and can’t figure out why it was cancelled after such a short time. Word to the wise, if you watch the DVD of this show they are NOT in the correct order. I repeat, they are not in the correct order and will just mess you up. Come to think of it, maybe this is why it didn’t last long. The viewer couldn’t follow the plot.
The other show we just finished this week is “Arrested Development”. There is nothing I can say about this show except, if you aren’t watching it you are dumb. Because it is just that good. So start watching it on Monday nights on Fox.
The King and I have now run out of things to watch. I put “Doogie Houser”, “Felicity”, and “Scrubs”. But I am not sure I am ready to commit to any of these.
So, do you have any others that you can recommend?? I am afraid we’ll have to cancel our Netflix account due to lack of interest.
I have a slight TV addiction

We have blockbuster’s version of Netflix. My hubby is always monitoring the queue so that we get the new releases as soon as they come out. If it were up to me, we’d have the bottom the barrel selection.

We’ve been wanting Netflix, but just haven’t done it yet. I guess I can’t commit either! I’m personally a huge Nip/Tuck fan, but it’s pretty gross.

we went to the cheaper version of netflix where you get 2 at a time, 4 a month total for $12. Less pressure to watch bad movies just to feel like you aren’t being wasteful.
But you can’t go wrong with Scrubs. And we just got the first disc of Veronica Mars — I hear it’s actually really good!

Netflix is a beautiful thing. At least for me…

Hi, found you through Mabel’s Muse…
We had the same issue with Netflix, watched everything we had any remote interest in and just cancelled.
Veronica Mars is good. I also heard the show Six Feet Under is excellent (never seen it myself, don’t even know if it’s on DVD.)
I personally love West Wing (older episodes), so that’s what we’ve gotten. I’d probably get older shows, too, like M*A*S*H (though I’m sure I’ve seen all those episodes.)

After our baby was born, we switched to the one at a time program through Netflix. This works great, actually, and is still cheaper (and easier) than going to the store.
We LOVE Six Feet Under. Love it. And we watched all of Sex and The City. And once in awhile we do get a movie. It’s only $10 and still worth it, especially when renting one movie is almost $4.

Arrested Dev. is awesome (I OWN the DVD set). I second (or third) the Scrubs recs. I also have the The Office (the orig BBC version) if that is your brand of humor and Sports Night. Is My So Called Life on Dvd? Or Freak & Geeks?(I am pretty sure both are). all of the got the ax prematurely. great shows.

Hope you watched Scrubs. That show is the bomb.
