My thoughts on the new TV season-thus farSeptember 23rd, 2005 @ 10:40 am
So, one of my most anticipated shows to watch this season was the season premier of “Lost”. Guess what? The electricity went out after we saw Shannon seeing/not seeing Walt. All the lights, just out (they didn’t come back on until after 1 am). The King lit some candles while I looked for the headlight (left over from our trip to Mexico where we stayed in a hut on the beach without electricity). I also tried to forget the fact that the DVR doesn’t work without electricity. Thank goodness that I could read this liveblogging post to at least know what I missed. By the sounds of it-I missed a lot. Dude, that first scene with the inside of the hatch…what in the crap was that? I mean, is this set in the 70’s? Is this guy just in love with the 70’s? Holy crap-a. I made The King watch what we did have taped last night (he missed it the first time). I was like “you tell me what this is”. He was like “this is crap”. Are the writers seriously going to give us more questions before we get any answers? So far the writers are doing what they get paid the big bucks to do-keeping idiots like me totally into their show and tuning back every week.
One of my other highly anticipated shows is “The O.C.”. I admit that I wasn’t very impressed with the season premier. But man, I was not impressed with last night’s episode at all. Half way through it, I turned to The King and said “I may have to give up on this show!”. I have a hard time believing Kirsten isn’t smart enough to see how Jeri Ryan is manipulating her. And who the crap is this Jeri Ryan character? Does she drink because her husband makes her go to strip clubs? Is she in love with Kirsten? Or with Sandy? Maybe she’s like Jimmy and just wants Caleb’s money. Also, were The King and I the only ones that thought Ryan and Marisa had already done it?? I thought they had showed that before. Or at least alluded to it when Seth and Summer started doing it like 2 seasons ago. Either way, do you really think you can just set up some hut on the beach with a full on bed (with sheets) and candles and the cops won’t show up? I know it’s just a TV show-but there has to be some sort of reality.
Next week is the season premier of “Veronica Mars”. I am hoping that I am happy with who’s at the door (and it better be Logan). And the power better stay on.
Also, I think The King and I have decided to cancel our Netflix account. We only have so many hours a day to devote to the TV and they are full as it is. We’ll cancel as soon as we finish watching the first season of “Arrested Development”. If we have a boy, I’m totally naming him George Michael.
I have a slight TV addiction
